David has worked as a loss adjuster for more than 30 years, specialising in the casualty arena post qualification in 1992. Having held senior position within Toplis & Harding, GAB Robins, and Axis International, David joined McLarens in 2008 to head up the Liability division.
David’s role includes responsibility for managing international casualty claims programmes on key global accounts, which generate both public and product liability/recall losses in multiple territories, across a wide range of industry sectors.
Whilst David has experience in all areas of casualty claims handling, he has a particular involvement in the roads and railway industries. He has dealt with RTA liability and product liability cases featuring motorway construction, resurfaced carriageways, tram derailments, and major railway incidents.
NOTABLE ASSIGNMENTS
- CAR PL claim in Lancashire involving a cyclist who fell from his cycle and suffered serious injuries
- CAR Product Liability Claim involving the M25 resurfacing in the Heathrow Section
- Contract Works and PL claim (circa GBP 400 K) involving the Insured laying a high voltage cable network
- Engineering Products Liability claim (circa GBP 200 K) – Insured were contracted to produce a master batch for incorporation in bulk plastic sheeting product
- Multiparty public liability claim in Norway arising from the accidental discharge of sand particles from a marine engineering facility and the resultant damage to property including over 100 motor vehicles due to sand abrasion
- Professional Indemnity claim pursued against a Dutch Contractor involving defective design following the failure of wind turbines in the North Sea
- Investigating and resolving public and employers’ liability claims for a European Catering Company in Germany and Scandinavia
- Claim handling arising from the establishment of a new Wholesale Product facility in Iceland.
