Shen Yuan was with the Singapore Police Force for 16 years, with the last 12 years as a Senior Investigation Officer handling complex white collar crimes. After leaving the police force, he joined an Australia based multinational risk management firm as a consultant for 4 years. His job scope included leading civil investigations into directors’ disputes, civil litigation, asset tracing and recovery, evaluate risks on behalf of major European and local banks as well as one of the lead investigators appointed by Asian Development Bank (ADB) for internal fraud investigations within the Asia Pacific Region.
He rose through the rank and last held the position of Investigation Manager for the Asia Pacific Region, leading a team of 12 members comprising forensic accountants, field investigators and document/digital forensic experts. His notable works included leading the successful execution of an Anton Pillar order against 25 entities in Singapore and Malaysia simultaneously; led an investigation and assisted an European bank in uncovering over Euro10 billions of internal fraud; coordinated an investigation project within PR China and Taiwan on behalf of a world renowned hand phone maker and carried out extensive risk management work on its operations.
After Shen Yuan left the risk management firm as it relocated its operations to Australia, he joined McLarens in 2012 and assumed the appointment of a Loss Adjuster. His work involves handling general insurance claims, Commercial/Industrial Fire and Building claims, Liability claims, Business Interruption loss, Fidelity Guarantee and other investigative work assigned by Insurers. He has been assigned to conduct investigation work in Malaysia during this period.
During his career, he has attended numerous courses to upgrade his skill sets, including attaining the Singapore Police Force Advance Investigation Course, various courses on investigation, forensic digital and document examination courses conducted by Forensic Digital Services Pty Ltd and others related to his field of work.
