McLarens Companies “dominate” in industry loss adjusting survey

McLarens and Agrical, a McLarens company specialising in the farming, estates, commercial leisure and high net worth markets, are leaders in their fields according to a survey of leading claims professionals. Both firms fared excellently in Post Magazine’s Loss Adjusters Insight Report 2013 – a comprehensive survey of more than 150 claims managers at insurers and broking firms – either leading or holding a top three position in their respective categories.

The report, which reinforces McLarens’ position as the leading international loss adjuster with a niche focus on commercial claims, provides “detailed operational insights on the UK’s nine most commonly used adjusting firms”. Post Magazine assessed the major loss adjusting providers across four rankings, including overall services for major property loss as well as service for high-value property claims (those valued at £10 000 to £100 000), low-value property claims (less than £10 000) and liability claims.

McLarens ranked second out of nine in property major loss work with an 83% positive ranking and was voted the market leader (first of eight) on both high-value property and low-value property work, with scores of 89% and 86% respectively. As summarised by Post Magazine in this week’s issue: “In general, the consensus was that McLarens gave a first class performance on major losses – and on high-value and low-value property, it dominated the service rankings”.

Agrical – which was graded separately for the purposes of the research – was ranked first in major loss work, with an 84% positive ranking (eight points above average). On high-value property claims it came third with 81%, five points above par. The report also noted Agrical’s “wealth of expertise” and “flexibility” in liability and other specialist products.

The report rounds off a hugely positive two years for McLarens, which has completed  two major UK transactions in that time, including a merger with the leading global aviation adjuster, Airclaims, in 2011 and a merger with Agrical in July 2013.

Graham Smart, McLarens Managing Director Europe, said: ” We would like to thank our clients for their continued support and recognition of what we do. We’ve consistently retained a commitment to specialising in commercial loss adjusting and we’re delighted to see that this continues to resonate with the market. Our objective is to be recognised as the leading provider of niche technical loss adjusting services, not just in the general commercial market, but in specialist product lines too, so it’s particularly pleasing to see how well Agrical’s offering continues to be rated.
