McLarens company Airclaims, the largest provider of survey and loss adjusting services to the global aviation industry, has opened an office in Vancouver, British Columbia. The new office extends Airclaims’ Canadian footprint, which also includes offices in Toronto and Montreal, into the west of the country. It also represents a further step in increasing the company’s Risk and Asset Management service (RAMS) capabilities in Canada and North America. The new Vancouver office, Airclaims’ sixth in North America, comes in response to client requests and illustrates growing demand in the region. It will be headed by Harmit Sangha who joins Airclaims from helicopter maintenance and support company, Heli-One. Harmit gained extensive rotary wing experience while at Heli-One, having performed several roles including Reliability Manager and Senior Project Manager. His 20-plus years of both fixed and rotary wing experience as an Engineer / Project Manager, working for the likes of Heli-One, Cascade Aerospace, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and ST Aviation Services (Singapore Technology), has seen him involved in a wide variety of assignments. Harmit’s expertise, which ranges from routine maintenance to assisting in operator claims handling in both airline and maintenance provider environments, will be heavily drawn upon in his new role as Regional Manager / Surveyor. He will be directly responsible for developing Airclaims’ claims presence in western Canada and providing a new RAMS capability to clients across North America and Canada. This latest expansion of Airclaims’ extensive Americas network follows on quickly from recent growth in the Latin American region, with Airclaims announcing the opening of its second Brazilian office in February and strategic recruitment in Mexico, Ecuador and Peru.
Wayne Donald, Managing Director, Canada, added: “Our continued investment in our network now enables us to offer clients coast to coast coverage in Canada. We continue to see demand for our services grow and I am delighted that we are able to bring in industry experts such as Harmit to help us meet this demand.”
Nick Payne, Group Director, Risk and Asset Management commented: “Over the last few years our rotary wing business has grown significantly to the point where Airclaims’ Risk and Asset Management team currently provide inspection and support services to three of the four largest global helicopter lessors. I am very pleased to have Harmit as part of our team; His extensive rotary wing experience will further enhance our ability to offer our clients a truly global and solution-focused service. As the business continues to grow we will be investing further in our Americas network.”
