McLarens, the global loss adjuster specialising in complex, commercial and niche markets, has recruited recognised Construction & Engineering (C&E) specialist, Mark Simmons BSc MRICS FCILA FUEDI – ELAE, to head its C&E team in the UK and Ireland. Simmons joins alongside two other dedicated C&E adjusters, Blue Newton and Sean Gregory, and all three will be based at McLarens’ London office.
Mark joins as Head of Construction & Engineering from Advanta, where he was Construction and Surveying Director. A dual qualified adjuster/surveyor, with over 30 years’ experience handling complex CAR/EAR, machinery breakdown, non-negligence cover and third-party losses, he takes over from Peter Scott to oversee McLarens’ C&E portfolio across 21 offices in the UK and Ireland. Peter moves into the new role of C&E Technical Lead.
Blue and Sean, who also join from Advanta, are dedicated C&E specialists. Blue is a former geotechnical consulting engineer and following completion of his RICS accredited Masters degree, he spent a further two years in industry before moving into adjusting within the construction and engineering sector. Sean has over 20 years’ loss adjusting experience across all forms of property and liability losses, ultimately specialising in construction and engineering.
The new team will strengthen McLarens’ London offering and, combined with the firm’s C&E hub in Manchester, ensure comprehensive geographical coverage across the UK. In addition, the expanded London team will operate alongside McLarens’ London market Natural Resources practice, to provide joint solutions to the energy and renewables sector.
