Shawn Crawford began his career in August, 2006 with Allstate Insurance as a National Catastrophe Claims Adjuster traveling the country starting out with handling residential wind & hail claims chasing hail storms and hurricanes during the summers and frozen pipes and ice dams in the winter spending a great deal of time in TX and New England. During the 7+ years in this position, he worked his way up to handling larger losses, field training new adjusters, and taking on temporary assignments during various hurricanes including a home office call center team lead during Hurricanes Ike/Gustav and Louisiana field team lead of a rapid response unit in Lafayette during Hurricane Issac. In May, 2014 Shawn took a lateral transfer to the regional Crossroads office as a Large Loss Contents Adjuster based in Metro Detroit handling losses throughout lower Michigan and northern Ohio.
In May, 2015, he was approached by Auto-Owners Insurance to become a Regional Catastrophe Claims Adjuster based in Michigan and began handling both residential and commercial losses throughout the state and beyond with assignments in NC & SC during Hurricane Irene. In March, 2017 Shawn accepted a home office promotion to their Lansing headquarters as a Claims Coordinator specialized estimate review & training. Over the next 2 years additional responsibiliites included oversight of the Xactware, Eagleview, & ITEL contracts; XactAdmin & XactAnalysis oversight of 500+ users, creating numerous job-aids, and traveling throughout the country for in-person branch training in between teaching home office seminars on construction methodologies and estimating techniques. Later, in 2019 Shawn was also a one of the field technical advisors for East Michigan adjusters. In 2019, Shawn went back to claims handling as a Field Claims Adjuster based in Northville, MI.
Around September, 2021 Crawford & Company reached out for a General Adjuster position based in Metro Detroit and began Shawn’s path as an independent adjuster. During his tenure, additional lines of insurance and claim types were added including rapdi response to trucking losses and fire losses as well as reinspection and assessments of Contractor Connection files.
Shawn came to McLarens this October, 2022 with a wealth of knowledge from a variety of field experiences obtained over the past 16 years.
