After completing his university degree David begun his career in insurance with Esure Motor Insurance, initially as a FNOL agent and then as a Recovery advisor. After 3 years with Esure David moved to Cunningham Lindsey as an Incident Manager dealing with domestic losses following the adjusters visit until the conclusion of the claim. He progressed from Incident Manager to field adjuster after 2 years handling domestic claims up to £100k on a visit and release basis. After 12 years with Cunninham Lindsey, he moved onto Direct Group as a domestic loss adjuster dealing with claims again up to £100k on a cradle to grave basis.
Following a brief return to Sedgwick as it was then he moved to Criterion Loss Adjusters as a high-net-worth adjuster dealing with primarily HNW and UHNW with a small number of commercial and real estate claims. These claims were dealt within on a cradle to grave basis with no upper financial limit. After 4 years with Criterion, he made the move to McLarens and the commercial property team
NOTABLE ASSIGNMENTS
- Domestic Fire claim – Norhtern Ireland – major issues surrounding ownership of the property whether it was owned by the insured or his business – also major under insurance (£1.2 Million)
- Domestic Escape of Water – Edinburgh – Gothic listed ceiling was water damaged, original ceiling was designed and installed by same person who works on the houses of parliament (£120k)
- Accidental loss – repudiation of the claim of an international footballer on the basis that endorsements were not complied with (£80k Jewlery)
- Domestic Fire Claim – thatched property, roof fire, major under insurance claim cash settled on a proportional remedy basis (£550k)
