SITUATION
In a prime example of loss prevention, our surveyor inspected a ship to ensure it was set up to carry a large piece of industrial equipment from China to the US during typhoon season.
SCENARIO
His recommendation of extra bracing and tie-downs for the equipment proved well founded when the ship hit a typhoon in Mid-Pacific.
OUTCOME
Where much of the ship’s cargo was severely damaged on arrival, our client’s equipment was off-loaded in pristine condition – all thanks to the extra bracing that had been applied.
