McLarens Aviation, the largest provider of survey and loss adjusting services to the global aviation industry, has launched a Beijing office, following the appointment of its first Chinese National surveyor, Dennis Shoulei Dong. A native Mandarin speaker, who is also fluent in English, Dennis is McLarens Aviation’s first surveyor to be permanently based in China and will report in to Kevin Betts, Regional Director for Asia Pacific. Effective 1 October, Beijing will be the aviation specialist’s latest office in the Asia Pacific region, which already includes eight offices in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and India.
The announcement follows a period of sustained international expansion by McLarens Aviation. In addition to Beijing, the business has opened new offices in Brisbane and Madrid and added additional surveyors in a number of offices.
Dennis, who joined the Asia Pacific team in January, has spent the last nine months undergoing training with McLarens Aviation’s Singapore and Sydney offices. A graduate of the Civil Aviation University of China, Dennis is a Licensed Aircraft Engineer holding US FAA A+P, Chinese CAAC and Hong Kong Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licenses. He joined from Embraer Beijing where he was a Tech Rep for China Eastern Airlines and has also spent time training with aircraft repair and maintenance provider HAECO, in addition to working as a line maintenance technician with Cathay Pacific Airways. He has extensive experience in both narrow and wide body aircraft, having dealt with airline, general aviation, engine and helicopter claims, as well as hangar based aircraft maintenance.
Nigel
Minett, Managing Director, commented: “Asia Pacific is an important area for our
business and we are proud to offer our clients access to some of the best surveyors in the region. As such, we take great care to ensure that we are developing and, where necessary, expanding our team to meet client demand. I am very pleased that we are now able to add an aviation resource to our offering in China – an area where McLarens has invested heavily over the years – and welcome Dennis to the McLarens Aviation team.”
