Andrew started in the industry at McLarens Toplis where he was a monitoring technician, visiting properties to regularly take monitoring readings to help assess the movement of buildings.
From that position, Andrew progressed to an administrator role, managing the office field force of surveyors and engineers, and helping to project manage the claims. He then moved to Cunningham Lindsey, having various roles again from a desk top claim manager/admin assistance, audit surveyor, repair surveyor and then progressing to a front-end claim’s handler for subsidence claims. All this was while he worked at completing his degree in Building surveying at Anglia Ruskin University.
He was then lucky to accept a role at Halifax/Lloyd’s Banking group as an in-house structural claim specialist, dealing with large structural claims, mostly relating to subsidence but also large flood and fire claims, that required a surveyor’s input. And also assisting with the field force on any major incidence of flooding or storm claims that occurred around the country.
His career then changes as he retrained as a Property Valuation Specialist, working initially for Lloyd’s Banking group, then other Surveying companies. This he did for nearly seven years, before he was lucky to be invited back to McLarens to continue working as a Loss Adjuster/Surveyor.
