We spoke with Anna Stuart to learn more about her experience with McLarens and what attributed to her recognition in McLarens’ global employee award program, McLarens Platinum Circle.
What has been one of the most interesting or rewarding experiences you have had at McLarens?
One of the most rewarding experiences I have had at McLarens is being able to be involved in litigated claims from the outset, right through to resolution. Even more rewarding is being able to collaborate with colleagues in Australia and around the world for technical knowledge to assist in adjusting and resolving claims. It has lead to an incredible increase in my general knowledge and comprehension of all manner of things.
What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have a personal passion?
I have an 8 month old son, so most of my time is spent caring for and hanging out with him, my husband and our dog. I also love to play netball and have been playing in a competitive indoor league for the past 6 years. I have taken a break from playing this year due to the birth of my son, so have coached instead to stay involved. I love music and theatre though have not been involved in either as much as I would like to in recent years.
What advice would you give someone starting out in this field or considering it as a career option?
Get involved in as many industry events, courses and professional development seminars as you can. Not only do you learn a lot from such events, they are a great way to meet others in the industry and build relationships. Speaking of which, while emails are a fantastically convenient and crucial form of communication, there is something to be said for picking up the phone or arranging a face to face discussion. Building relationships with clients and other stakeholders in the claims process can be hugely beneficial.
