We spoke with John Nettles to learn more about his experience with McLarens and what attributed to his recognition in McLarens’ global employee award program, McLarens Platinum Circle.
What has been one of the most interesting or rewarding experiences you have had at McLarens?
The most ongoing rewarding aspect of my time with McLarens has been the friendships I have developed with my colleagues from our office and in other areas of the country. Being part of a supportive team and getting along so well with colleagues certainly makes for a more enjoyable work and career experience.
Also, being selected as winner of the first Platinum Circle award and earning the trip to Dubai was a happy surprise. With so many talented colleagues, I am honored and I look forward to meeting the other winners and senior management team on this exciting trip.
What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have a personal passion?
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter. Whether it be a lazy day by the pool and BBQ or exploring South Florida and taking my daughter to her favorite play grounds and children’s museums, I truly enjoy the family time. I also enjoy cooking and entertaining friends.
What advice would you give someone starting out in this field or considering it as a career option?
Adjusting is a rewarding and demanding career. My advice to anyone starting in this profession would be to learn as much as you can from as many people as you can. I learned from so many managers and senior adjusters when I first started. I took bits and pieces of each experience and used it to craft my own style.
