McLarens is pleased to announce the appointment of David Matias as Senior International Adjuster within its Mexico operation. David moves from the McLarens London office with extensive experience in managing major property and casualty losses and claims of a complex nature. He has particular expertise and field experience in Construction, Automotive Industry, Mining,
Contractors Plant and Equipment, Terrorism, Cash in Transit, and Specie, in addition to CAT events and large fire losses. He also has significant London insurance market experience, having spentseveral years supporting the reinsurance market there.
David began his insurance career in 1999 in London, training within a major Spanish insurance company in their Underwriting and Claims departments. He then joined a major international adjusting firm in London, working in their home office liaison department and handling multiple interim overseas assignments before moving to Latin America in 2008.
David has been actively involved in adjusting complex claims in Mexico for the past seven years, as well as throughout Latin America. He oversaw and adjusted high profile multi-million dollar losses for London reinsurers and international markets following the 2010 Chile earthquake. More recently, he spent six months in Thailand handling a flood related multi-million dollar claim.
Born in Spain, he commenced his undergraduate degree at the Universidad de Salamanca (Spain), before graduating in London with an Honours degree. He has also been a lecturer of Research Methods at London Metropolitan University. He holds a Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (Dip CILA).
