MCLARENS APPOINTS ALISTAIR JACOB TO LEAD LONDON INTERNATIONAL TEAM

High-profile appointment further strengthens global firm’s Lloyd’s and London market offering.

LONDON – OCTOBER 2024: McLarens, a leading global claims services provider, has announced the appointment of Alistair Jacob to the newly created role of Head of London International. Based at McLarens’ Lime Street office, Jacob will report to Steven Wallace, EMEA Managing Director, and will take responsibility for strengthening McLarens’ Lloyd’s and London market offering, leading a dedicated team to handle major and complex losses, and co-ordinate assignments that come through McLarens’ London International hub.

With a distinguished career spanning 40 years, Alistair brings a wealth of expertise in managing complex, commercial, and specialty insurance and reinsurance losses across various sectors. He has a deep-rooted understanding of the Lloyd’s and London markets, having begun adjusting claims underwritten in Lloyd’s in 1992. His expertise encompasses managing claims across numerous territories and product lines, including catastrophe management, commercial property, political violence, onshore power (both fossil and renewables), construction, marine (ports and terminals), and more.

Alistair joins McLarens from Dekra, where he served as the Managing Director of Dekra Loss Adjusters & Surveyors. In this role, he led regional teams and responses to large-scale events such as hurricanes and earthquakes. Prior to this he held senior leadership roles at York International (now Sedgwick), Axis International, and Crawford & Company.

His extensive experience further reinforces McLarens’ commitment to delivering unparalleled service to clients in the London market. McLarens’ London International Hub is a dedicated team developed to consolidate the company’s global network, specialty lines, and sector-focused teams to offer comprehensive support to reinsurers and London market insurers and syndicates in respect of their international exposures. McLarens’ global network offers a range of specialty practice groups with a focus on industry sectors including agriculture, aviation, consumer goods, construction & engineering, energy & natural resources, environmental, FAJ & specie, financial lines, and marine & transport.
