This is part of our broader strategy to adapt and excel in a dynamic and fast-growing market. It’s an ongoing process, and there will be more to follow in the coming months.”
Based in London, John joined McLarens Aviation in 1998, having begun his career with 15 years in the aviation industry, undertaking various roles with operators in the UK and overseas with a major manufacturer. Since then, he has combined engineering with claims handling to handle a large number of complex claims within the aerospace sector.
John Bayley, Global Technical Director, McLarens Aviation, added: “The aviation insurance sector must keep pace with developing aerospace technology while supporting the existing industry. With a phenomenal team of engineers and adjusters covering the smallest to largest and most basic to highly complex losses, we want to make the best use of our existing knowledge base while continuing to recruit quality individuals to enhance it.
“Considering the widespread use of composite materials and the rapid growth of the electric aircraft, UAV and Advanced Air Mobility market, there’s increasing interest in making the industry safer, more efficient and ultimately more sustainable. We intend to keep pace with these developments.
“I see my new role as harnessing the full potential of our network’s technical expertise and resources to benefit clients worldwide. We have a stellar team at McLarens Aviation, and with the collective knowledge of everyone in the business, we have a unique, market-leading offering. I’m delighted to take on this new role.”
Over the past 12 months, McLarens Aviation has implemented several structural enhancements to align with its growth strategy and client demands. In the UK, the addition of two new management roles, London Claims Manager and Deputy London Claims Manager, assumed by Gary Clift and Andrew Southall, respectively, has facilitated the expansion of the survey team.
Globally, McLarens Aviation promoted Tan Soon Keat to Regional Director in Asia, alongside Philip Galbraith, who assumed the role of General Manager in Singapore. The moves reflect McLarens Aviation’s emphasis on continuity through internal promotions, succession planning, and fine-tuning its structure to support its clients’ ever-changing requirements.
