Chris entered the loss adjusting industry in the UK during the late 1990’s and has specialised in liability adjusting since 2001. He progressed to the position of Complex Loss Specialist within a global adjusting firm, where he specialised in investigating and handling large and complex injury, fatality, stress, property liability and products liability &recall claims, before relocating to Australia in 2013. Since being in Australia, Chris has developed a following amongst a range of insurer, TPA, and law firm clients through the provision of quality, robust and proportionate investigations and claims handling services. Chris was awarded Loss Adjuster of the Year at the 2017 AICLA (Vic) Awards. Formerly a Director of an Australian owned National Adjusting firm and following a short period away from the industry, spent working for Australia’s largest TPA during which he gained an in-depth understanding of what a client needs from a liability adjuster, Chris joined the team at McLarens in January 2024.
Chris is involved in the following associations: The Society of Claims Technicians, Certificate of Insurance Practice, Society of Technicians in Insurance, Fellow of The Society of Claims Technicians.
NOTABLE ASSIGNMENTS
- Education – Liability enquiries undertaken in respect of a claim for psychiatric injuries allegedly sustained throughout the Claimant’s entire education
- Mining – Factual Investigations on behalf of lawyers in respect of fatal injuries involving mining explosives
- Banking – Conducting sensitive factual enquiries with a disgruntled worker supported by a Union representative, on behalf of lawyers acting for a corporate client who faced allegations of bullying and harassment
- Brewing – Liability, policy indemnity and quantum enquiries in respect of a Product Recall claim and Products Liability notification involving a nationwide brewer
- Aquaculture – Factual Investigation into a Products Liability claim valued at c $70m concerning the aquafeed industry
- Retail – Factual Investigations on behalf of lawyers of a retail corporate client in respect of a mesothelioma claim with the alleged causative exposure dating back 40 years
- Construction – Investigation and stakeholder management of a Construction Liability claim involving damage sustained to multiple residential units arising out of construction defects in which numerous homeowners were uninsured and unrepresented.
