Biography

Chris is a seasoned Executive Adjuster with over a decade of international experience liability investigations, across Australia and Africa. With a strong legal background, he specializes in complex claims, including construction, cyber liability, and financial risk. His academic foundation includes a B.Com and LLB degrees as well as an Advanced Certificate in Construction Contracts (obtained with distinction).

His career started as a Legal Advisor at an Insurer, where he managed a liability portfolio, conducted investigations, and negotiated settlements. He later moved into Loss Adjusting roles at McLarens Young International and Associated Loss Adjusters, handling various claims, including first party property losses, Fidelity Guarantee, Professional Indemnity and all classes of liability. He also led a team to undertake commercial assessments in New Zealand following the 2009 and 2011 earthquakes in Christchurch.

From 2013 to 2018 he worked at Cunningham Lindsey, first in South Africa and later in Australia, specializing in major and complex liability claims, which included General Liability, Products Liability, Product Recall, Professional Indemnity, and Constructions Liability. In 2018, he joined Charles Taylor Adjusting, as an Executive Adjuster, gaining experience in Cyber, later becoming the Asia Pacific Regional Head for Cyber. In this role Chris managed a wide range of Cyber losses, while overseeing a team and service development in the Asia Pacific region.

Chris continued his career as an Executive Liability Adjuster at Technical Assessing in 2023 before joining McLarens in 2025. Throughout his journey, he has been recognized for his expertise in liability investigations, working on emerging and bespoke service offerings in the insurance sector.

  • Professional Indemnity – Construction (Wall Collapse – Engineering – $2.5m), Electrical Engineering (Transformer designed for smelter plant USD $3 Million)
  • Product Liability – Agricultural Chemical (Personal Injury – Incorrect labelling – $3mil), Agricultural (Seed Supply – mixed cultivars – $5mil), Manufacturing (Varnish on packaging – tainting Third Party product USD $2 Million)
  • Personal Injury – Numerous claims from basic injuries to loss of life.
  • General Liability – Defective Work (Heavy Machinery), Fuel (Delivery – contamination), Bulk water line failure (Third Party Property Damage).
  • Construction – Composite Column failure (USD $500K); Construction project altered watercourse (US $1.5 Million)
