Prior to an adjusting career, Jerry held an agent’s license marketing home, auto, life and annuity insurance products. He then managed a production facility for a major US clothing manufacturer and eventually became familiar with the construction and building processes while working as an electrician.
In 2004, Jerry re-entered the insurance industry, obtaining an independent adjuster’s license working as a residential catastrophe adjuster and later as a staff adjuster for an Oklahoma based company. During this period, he developed his knowledge in the property loss discipline, gaining extensive experience in estimating and managing both residential and auto property and liability losses. This included the handling of claims for hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne in 2004 and Katrina in 2005.
Jerry joined McLarens in 2009, where he has further developed skills in the commercial loss discipline. During this time, emphasis has been on commercial building construction and business interruption while handling a variety of medium to large loss claims including numerous wind, tornado, and hail losses throughout the Midwest and High Plains areas.
In addition, Jerry has attended numerous training programs involving assessment of property damage associated with estimating and claim adjusting, water damage restoration, fire and smoke damage restoration, structural drying, and business interruption.
