Michael’s adjusting career began with McLarens in 1991 after two years in the claims department of Legal and General in Manchester.
In 2002, he moved to Ashworth Mairs, before joining Cunningham Lindsey in 2005, all the time developing his technical skills before becoming part of the Complex and Major Loss Team in 2009. After a brief stint at Woodgate & Clark from 2014 to 2015, he then joined QuestGates where he headed up the commercial Major & Complex Loss team for eight years, before moving to McLarens in 2024.
Michael has wide ranging experience in all types of losses across a wide variety of sectors, including Real Estate, Retail, Hospitality, Food and Drink Industry, Waste Recycling and Housing Associations.
Michael dealt with major losses following significant events such as the Manchester IRA bomb (1996), Oldham race riots (2001), Manchester riots 2011, floods (including Carlisle 2005, Sheffield/Hull 2007 and Cumbria 2009 & 2015).
Michael serves on the committee of the CILA Property Special Interest Group and is also an examiner for CILA.
