Nathan Scott is a Chartered Civil Engineer with ten years of experience in the construction and civil engineering industry, specialising in temporary works and construction method engineering. He has worked primarily with civil engineering contractors on large tunnelling projects and later transitioned to a design engineering consultancy, where he honed his structural design expertise on marine civil engineering projects.
Nathan joined McLarens from the largest insurance broker in the market, where he worked within the claims solutions team. In this role, he prepared and presented major and complex insurance claims for policyholders, primarily within the construction, energy & power, and property sectors.
Nathan is committed to advancing his qualifications with CILA. Having achieved Diploma membership, he is now pursuing the Advanced Diploma, with the ultimate goal of attaining Chartered status.

- Nuclear Power Station (Construction All Risks): Supported an £86 million claim related to grout overpouring damage in an intake shaft annulus, drawing on his tunnelling engineering expertise.
- Commercial Warehouse (Property Damage): Assisted with a £10 million fire loss, applying structural engineering insight to assess risks associated with the building’s piled foundations, contributing to a fairer client outcome.
- Residential Care Home (Construction All Risks): Managed a £2 million escape of water claim, adopting a proactive project management approach to maintain claim progress and mitigate the client’s cash flow impact.
- Technology Company UK Headquarters (Construction All Risks, Delay in Start-Up): Led the analysis of the client’s water management strategy following damage to cross-laminated timber floor planks caused by rainfall and condensation, while reviewing the associated quantum.
- Mixed-Use Development (Delay in Start-Up): Led efforts to establish a COVID-19-related delay for an Irish property developer.
