Simon began his aviation career in 1990 when he undertook an Aeronautical apprenticeship with British airways and completed in 1993. He then became an Aircraft Mechanical Engineer until 1998. He continued his craft as an Aircraft Technician for the next 10 years. In 2008, He became a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, where he certified 747/777 aircraft and was responsible for technical team leadership and completion of all planned and unscheduled maintenance. In 2012, Simon became an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor with British Airways, where he certified and led a a team of 40 staff on BA new fleet aircraft 787/380, and legacy aircraft 747/777 routine and scheduled maintenance. In 2017, he started working with a London based company as an Aviation Survey and Loss Adjuster before being hired as an Aviation Surveyor with McLarens Aviation in late 2019.

Assisting, handling and managing of Airbus narrow-bodied aircraft Hull Loss in Turkey, working closely with Insurers, Brokers, Airline and repairers.
Turbine engine survey for HPT blade liberation at Lufthansa Tecnik AERO, Alzey, Germany.
Assisting with claim CFM56 engine dropped during installation, including performing engine survey.
Various General Aviation claims which also included fatal incidents.
Entry into Service implementation of the 787 aircraft which involved in depth system experience, production line structural and systems inspections at Boeing Everett, Seattle.
Leading the maintenance team for EIS at LHR including the oversight and training of BA aircraft engineers and other operators maintenance personnel; liaising with British Airways technical and Boeing technical support/field service representatives.
