Thakarn graduated from Prince of Songkla University in the faculty of Industrial Engineering in 1998 and then worked in a manufacturing factory. He joined McLarens (Thailand) Ltd. in 2001 as an adjuster. He has handled numerous losses in Thailand mostly relating to fire and machinery breakdown. The major events he has experienced include the tsunami in 2004, Hadyai floods and fire at Central World in 2010, and the Thai floods in 2011.
