Travis enlisted in the Air Force shortly after Sept. 11, 2001 and served in the Air Force and the Indiana Air National Guard for over 7 years as a part of the Civil Engineering Squadron. He deployed to Iraq in 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Travis left the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant.
Upon finishing his undergraduate degree, Travis joined the Field Catastrophe Team at Travelers Insurance Company, where he handled both residential and commercial losses. Travis was on the CAT Team from 2010 – 2015 in which he responded to numerous large scale catastrophes, including Superstorm Sandy, tornadoes and wildfires. Travis received extensive training related to both severity and high volume claim handling for domestic and international catastrophe events.
From 2015 until joining McLarens, Travis worked at Chubb (Senior Claims Specialist) and most recently at NatGen Premier (Large Loss Manager), two high-net-worth carriers specializing in both traditional and specialty insurance products. He was responsible for training, providing technical and leadership guidance and served as a liaison between the Large Loss Department and other internal departments. Travis responded to large losses and catastrophe events across the country to adjudicate or oversee the adjustment of claims for high-net-worth insureds and agencies.
