Umashankar joined McLarens India as a Branch Manager of Raipur, Chhattisgarh in July 2024. He has experience in loss assessment/adjustments in property, construction & engineering and marine claims ranging from standard fire and allied perils losses to industries, warehouses, shops, and malls, construction losses under CAR & EAR policies and machinery breakdown losses under engineering policies.
Umashankar Verma started his career with the Bhilai Engineering Corporation Project Limited as a Junior Executive (Electrical Engineer) in 2012. During this time, he gained knowledge of erection, maintenance & commissioning of electrical equipment’s (transformer, HT & LT panel, cables, PLC Panel, Hydro jet, VFD Drive, Motors etc.). Thereafter, he worked as a senior adjuster in Proclaim Insurance Surveyors for about 8 years where he acquired expertise in Property, Engineering, Casualty and Marine claims.
He is experienced in managing catastrophic losses and conducting risk analyses across industries, as well as handling marine cargo claims under export/import policies and inland transit policies for diverse commodities and machinery/equipment.
